X-es is a Marble-X project aimed at creating a multimedia system with the ease of installation and usage similar to TiVo, combined with the power of a full linux desktop and plug and play networking.

A lot has happened since we started this project back in 2005. The first incarnation was a simple setup using windows as operating system and Windows Media Center as multimedia environment, although installation of the system was easy enough, the system had to be equipped with rather fast (and thus expensive) hardware to cope with the system requirements that come with this software combination. Primairily, the focus for this system was to build an easy to use multimedia system, but as work on the Windows version progressed that changed quite a bit.
